Rough Day at Brickyard for Kyle Busch

Kyle BuschINDIANAPOLIS -- Troubles continue for Kyle Busch and it may cost him a shot at the Sprint Cup Championship.

The right front tire on Busch's No. 18 Toyota blew out on lap 57 of the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard Sunday sending the car hard into the Turn 3 wall at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and eventually into the garage for major repairs.

Busch was able to return to the race but finished 38th and drops outside the top-12 Chase contention with only six races remaining to set the playoff field. He's 82 points behind 12th place Matt Kenseth and now has only one top-10 finish in the last eight races.

"We were just biding our time,'' Busch said after climbing out of his car. "I had been loose the whole run so I didn't think I had been abusing it (tire) at all, but all of the sudden it just started vibrating and then in two laps it just blew out. I don't know what happened.

"I think it's pretty self-explanatory that we're trying to fight for a spot in the Chase and this is obviously frustrating because I don't know if it was our cars, the tire or what.'''
