Formula One is in Budapest this weekend for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Qualifying took place on Saturday, and it was marred by a wreck involving Felipe Massa.
The Ferrari driver missed a curb and slammed into the wall. Replays indicated that Massa was struck in the head by a spring that had fallen off a fellow competitor's car. Video after the jump.
Massa is said to be in stable condition. He was conscious at the track. Speculation is that he was dazed when the spring struck his helmet, and that's what caused the car to hit the wall.
The crash caused a delay of close to a half-hour in qualifying.

Fanhouse should update the post when events involving health change dramatically. Massa had emergency surgery for life-threatening skull injuries plus a concussion. He's stable but in intensive care. A forehead skull fracture and a basal skull fracture is more than dazed.

AOL would have moment by moment updates if Jeff Gordan wet his bed. But a race that a quarter billion people watched yesterday? No, that's on the fourth page.
