CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- An attorney for Jeremy Mayfield says he will not go to Chicago for this weekend's NASCAR race.John Buric says Mayfield does not have the necessary sponsorship for his car and no owner is willing to give him a ride for Saturday night's race at Chicagoland Speedway.
Buric says Mayfield instead will stay in North Carolina to help his lawyers respond to NASCAR's appeal.
Last week a federal judge issued an injunction that cleared Mayfield to compete. On Wednesday, NASCAR asked the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn U.S. District Court Judge Graham Mullen's decision.
Mayfield was suspended May 9 for failing a random drug test eight days earlier, and NASCAR has said he tested positive for methamphetamine.

Actually this is newsworthy, at least for Mayfield. If Jeremy and his lawyers can duplicate the results of his urine sample in a controlled test by a reputable lab he will be able to use the fact that Nascar destroyed his career in his lawsuit against them. I am sure they are already working control group, or have already finished their testing, in doing just that.
if he is guilty he should never even be allowed on a track again but if he is not he will probably never have to work again.

But i still doubt he is.
why is everyone so sure he is guilty after only a false positive result? Any lab will tell you that is very common and can analyze it futher to get the correct results or send it to another lab to analyze
