The fine folks at Sports Rubbish uncovered a little video of one Ms. Danica Patrick entering pit row (that's what they call it outside of NASCAR, right y'all?) and hitting one of her crew members. Now, I've never actually driven a race car, so I don't want to judge Patrick for her inability to a) do her job or b) steer said car at a low speed, but really? That's what the "brake pedal" and "steering wheel" are for, Danica.

I guess she thought it was HIS fault because she did not even tried to back up right away.
Maybe she should not come to Nascar after all because these cars are heavier and would crush the man not like those light rear engine cracker boxes.
I really hope the entire crew stays over the wall from here on out because she was TOO CLOSE to start with

INDY cars can't back up. She immediately leaped out of the car to see how he was doing.
If I am not mistaken, Indy cars do not have a reverse gear therefore she could not back up on her own. If you notice in the video she is being pushed back.
Look at the glare as it moves from left to right as she is pulling in. The pit crew because difficult to pick out of the shadows. I suspect that she really couldn't see him due to the glare off of her car.
Over the years of watching races, I've seen numerous pit accidents where drivers hit and/or run over crew members both during races and during practice sessions. This includes everything from F1, Indy, CART, F300, NASCAR, NASCAR Trucks, Indy Lights, etc. This stuff happens and it is always a scary moment for everyone concerned.
Greg, your an IDIOT! First off, these cars don't have REVERSE! This isn't your Mom's Nova. Second the pit crew member WAS at fault for being in the catchers position on the active side of the wall. All crew members MUST be in the standing position AGAINST the wall till the car comes to a complete stop! This way if something does go wrong, they can GET OUT OF HARMS WAY! Guess he got lazy cause as Iverson say's, Practice? Your talkin about practice man!

What no comments about women drivers!!! I drive really fast cars and from what I saw in this video she seemed that she didn't know where the front wheel was in relation to the wall. This accident was all her fault since she was going slow enough that this should never have happened!!! Better stay home Danica, I would not like to be on her pit crew, because this is not the first time she hit a pit crew member!!

Cono, you're wrong. Most men actually love competitive women but if Danica wants to compete with men, she needs to stop being a crybaby. My wife can keep up with most men at just about everything (which is something that I find that to be an extremely desirable trait) but she does not whine when things don't go her way. Danica wants it both ways and that's what is so annoying about her.
who is the asshole that wrote the article. she obviously knows nothing about racing. pit crew members are hit all the time in all racing venues, including nascar, including jr.. the writer is a complete and condescending idiot. danica is, sorry to her detractors, at the top of her game and in the top five in points. so much for women drivers, keep up the good work danica....
I second this. Obviously the writer and commenter know nothing about the goings on of Going Over the Wall as a crew member. OH and tire carriers like cheapshot writers are "expendable" in my book.
pit crew members get hit alot more than just this, why you think nascar pit members have to wear helmets Its part of their line of work( agreeing with nzcr14) . The risk are there and they know of them ahead of time. She was granted close to the wall but did the crew member ever move or attempt to move i think not, so she is not the only one at fault.
wow...what a non-issue. The real story is how Indy has all their promo cards in one driver. I sure hope she does not leave the circuit as she is the only media star out of the bunch..how did this happen to Indy racing? I think people know more track and field stars?
Why should he get out of the way? He was in his proper position to do his job. She should have done hers. She doesn't win in big or small races. Yea, she's good, but if she were a guy with the same results she wouldn't be on "godaddy" commercials. Every few weeks she throws a tantrum. At least NASCAR drivers rotate who's pissed.
She is a horrible driver and a worse sportsman. Always whining and crying....i hope she does go to nascar...that would be great!!!!!
