It almost seems like a broken record.While Kyle Busch continues to own the NASCAR Nationwide Series points standings, he is having awful issues finishing races. He's had some bad luck, no doubt about it. However, Saturday night in the Meijer 300 at Kentucky Speedway, Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Joey Logano simply had a better racecar. It helps that he picked a good time for what could have been his best restart of the night.
With 15 laps to go, a Mike Bliss wreck caused a red flag. After the track was cleaned up, the field was brought to green with 13 to go.
Not long after the restart, Logano got a great run on the low side of Busch, who had led for most of the race, and he made the clean pass. The combination of a popular young driver in Logano and a driver in Busch who is perceived (right or wrong) to be a complete jerk led to a loud roar from the 70,000 fans when Logano took the lead. He didn't give it up, winning by over a second.
For Busch, it was another race where he was dominant throughout, but couldn't cross the finish line first. It's the seventh straight Nationwide race where Busch led the most laps, but he has just two wins in that span.
His frustration was evident in a short postrace chat with ESPN's Mike Massaro. Asked about his widening point lead (Carl Edwards, second in points, ran 20th Saturday, so Busch picked up 47 points on the lead), Busch simply said "Would be nice to have 12 wins," before walking off.
Give him credit, though. He predicted a second-place finish earlier in the day, after a second-place finish in the Truck Series race at Michigan that saw him get passed late.

If Kyle had as much control over his mouth as he seems to have with his race car he would be in much better shape with the fans but then I don't think he actually gives a damn about the fans, plus the media (god luvem) likes to stoke the fire.

I will agree he is good driver WITH great equipment. But he is a JACKASS. HE needs to learn to lose with class well he needs class period.

lets face it you don't speak for everyone either, and when you look at all the drivers over the last 30 years I really don't think you would ever get even near 100% agreement on kyle being the best thing to happen.
I am sick and tired of seeing Dale Jr's face plastered all over anything that has to do with NASCAR. I never could stand his Dad and I like Jr even less. Jr should get out of the 88 and go run his beer joint in Charlotte. I've been watching Nascar for over thirty years and Jr is pitiful. He can't drive a herd of goats much less a race car.

I was hoping to hear some congratulations for Joey, along with the usual "Kyle sucks". I know the kid has had a tough time adapting to the big league this year, but Logano is clearly an extremely talented driver, and just might be a future Sprint Cup champ. Everything has become so "get it done immediately" in this age of instantaneous news updates, everyone seems to be treating Logano like a bust already. Keep following his career, and I'll bet once his comfort level rises among the big dogs, he'll start winning there, too.
Oh, and like most others, I too am glad when Kyle finishes somewhere other than first. He may be talented, and make the "bad boys" happy, but he's still just an arrogant, disrespectful punk who can drive a car really well.

I just love reading your remarks, hafttwo, knowing how much it burns you up that the auto companies you support give most of their money (now OUR money) to Mexicans and Canadians, while those you despise keep bringing tons of good-paying jobs INTO this country, and all you have to hold onto is your hollow devotion to a company's past. ????So these other guys raced in the truck series? I don't think so! Most if not all only drove in one series at a time. Kyle is the most fun to watch out of any of them. As far as talent, he is better than some and time will tell as far as others are concerned.
