For the second week in a row, the Sprint Cup pole winner will start in the back.Last week in California, Brian Vickers' engine change sent him to the back, and this week in Sin City, Kyle Busch will follow suit.
And Busch's Camry engine wasn't the only of the Toyota camp to go sour on Friday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, either.
Four other cars -- including Brian Vickers, Scott Speed, David Reutimann and Marcos Ambrose -- all suffered similar engine issues related to a lifter problem in the motor that was also the cause of Vickers' problems last week at Auto Club Speedway.
As a result, the two-by-two starting formation at the green flag will see Jimmie Johnson and Kyle's brother Kurt lead the 43-car field to the checkered flag because NASCAR rules state that cars who must revert to the rear of the field for the start force their respective line (inside or outside) to fill that spot, rather than shuffling the whole field.
Regardless, by qualifying 1-2 on Friday, the Busch brothers (who, conventiently enough, are both from Las Vegas) became the first brother duo to take a race's top qualifying spots since Rusty and Kenny Wallace did so back in 2000. Kyle Busch's lap of 185.995 mph with his new engine (they changed the original during the first practice) set a new track record at the 1.5-miler that was configured with more banking for the 2007 edition.
Jimmie Johnson, looking to return to form after winning the past three Sprint Cup titles, took the third spot with David Reutimann and Marcos Ambrose rounding out the Top-5. As a result, just two of the fastest five cars will be at the front for the start of Sunday's race.
Ryan Newman, Kasey Kahne, Mark Martin, Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart rounded out the Top-10 for the Shelby 427.
The only driver to win a Sprint Cup points race in 2009 -- Roush Fenway's Matt Kenseth -- will line up 40th while second in points and the second-place finish a week ago Jeff Gordon will start 28th.
Two of the season's biggest underdog stories of Scott Riggs and Jeremy Mayfield both failed to make the third race of 2009 along with Travis Kvapil, Dave Blaney, Mike Garvey, Sterling Marlin, Tony Raines and Dexter Bean.

So KB has a new monster under his hood - lets see how many laps it takes for him to get to the front and stay there.

Kyle, get rid of your parasite firlfriend and concentrate on driving, you made a stupid rookie mistake in the race. Say, why are wives and girlfriends allowed in the pits, isn't that dangerous if one of those cars run amuck? Congrats to Greg Biffle, good run.
