Greg Biffle Earns Tough Vegas Win

Did you get a chance to catch that Nationwide Series race from Las Vegas on Saturday afternoon?

When the checkers fell, Greg Biffle was left out front -- literally, as just 10 cars finished on the lead lap -- to snap his 76-race drought of winning in the series.

But in between, the 209 laps that made up the Sam's Town 300 turned out to be quite hairy for a number of drivers.

By the time the race was just 28 laps old, four yellow flags had waved with Scott Speed and Kyle Busch taking the brunt of the action after Busch got loose while racing for the lead under Kevin Harvick. Busch spun up the track in Turn 4 and a trailing Scott Speed -- the race's pole sitter -- smashed head-on into Busch's No. 18.

Both were done for the event, and joined a list of 15 cars that failed to complete 151 laps of the race.

Mike Bliss and Denny Hamlin got caught up in another incident in the race's waning laps after Hamlin brushed the turn 2 wall. As Hamlin circled the track and went into turn 1, the car failed to negotiate the corner and Hamlin slowed dramatically. Mike Bliss, who led 16 laps, couldn't avoid Hamlin's car and plowed into the rear bumper of Hamlin's Toyota.

The race saw two red flags and Biffle nearly ran out of fuel on the final green-white-checkered finish after the race went an extra 9 laps. His No. 16 stumbled with low fuel pressure and Carl Edwards snuck alongside for the second-to-last lap. Edwards couldn't hold off Biffle when he gained regular fuel flow and Biffle cruised to the victory on the last lap.
