I would not be surprised if Nascar was forced out of business for 'environmental/political' reasons. It won't be tomorrow but I believe it is much closer than people realize. There are MANY citizens and politicians that loved it when gas prices were close to
$ 5/gallon. It was considered great because fewer people drove. Prince Charles said the environment trumps the economy.
An elected group of politicians are already trying to force the U.S. citizens to limit driving to the absolute minimum by forcing higher fuel costs. The majority of the politicans that believe this are Democrats. Although, John McCain absolutely did agree with the extreme environmentals.
I watched Morning Joe on MSNBC this summer so that I could learn what 'some' Democrats thought and their point of view. The majority of the wealthy elite Democrats do believe that higher gas prices are great for America. I couldn't believe what I heard day after day. Gas prices have affectly some people dear to me immensely. MANY employees have lost their jobs. A small company cannot pay the gas costs, truck insurance costs, employee insurance costs, truck upkeep, plus labor costs, disability insurance, state and federal taxes and make a profit. I've seen it first hand and it cannot work. A lot of people are losing their jobs. Much of it stems specifically from high gas costs.
I would ask that you do look into what your congressman and senators do believe in. People that live in cities with subway and bus transportation may or may not suffer in the same proportion as those in suburbs or rural America. I don't think so but someone may not agree with that statment either.
I know that I was taken to 'task' by many Obama supporters here. That was what it was. I'm suggesting that generally most 'Democratic Politicians' do not believe they are supported by the Nascar fans. The perception is that Nascar fans are conservatives.
It might be beneficial to the sport of Nascar if you spoke out to your Senators and Congress person. All it takes is a letter or email. If you need to know how to reach them then I would be happy to let you know the website that will help you locate them.
This is my opinion. I have read today that there are clear signals about certain environmental issues being passing immediately. The news has reported that Obama asked Bush to pass his economy stimulus plans while Bush is still in office (including federally funded abortions, stem cell research and ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES). I am only discussing environmental issues, how it affects fuel prices and how it specifically affects Nascar.
The only thing that I am suggesting is that the sport of Nascar might be well served by fans showing their support for the sport.
