It's been an interesting week in the NASCAR Sprint Cup world, and by interesting I mean pretty doggone slow. It feels like every team in the business -- especially the ones in the Chase -- just put their collective heads down and went to work for a week without distraction.
Luckily, Friday afternoon brought something to talk about as the Sprint Cup teams headed to Dover for second race of the Chase for the Championship, and luckily for a struggling Jeff Gordon, he earned the right to start out front for Sunday's race.
Gordon dropped a lap of 157.061 mph around the one-mile concrete oval to top Dale Earnhardt Inc.'s Mark Martin by mere hundreths of a second. Denny Hamlin, Kurt Busch, and last week's winner at New Hampshire Greg Biffle rounded out the Top-5.
The pole for Gordon comes at a time when he especially needs a top-five run or even a win to break out of the funk he's experienced nearly the entire season and to put himself back in to contention for an unlikely run at a championship in the nine remaining Chase races.
On the Chase side of things, the two drivers tied at the top of the standings will start 20th (Jimmie Johnson) and 22nd (Carl Edwards).

Longs you stay away from the wall, you should miss Stewart and Montoya... LOL. As far as i'm concerned he got the same pole as INGRID gets daily. LOL. GOD ON has no reason to wreck STEWART, if he tryes, he will hit the wall and the garage way before stewart will. works for me...

How will this results back up tony fury or jimmy hendrick euology for eury?
Hope i'm wrong, but those are the results and that's NOT ACCEPTABLE to the " jr. nation".

What I got out of that article, Anna, was for all the banter these two guys enjoy over the radio what is needed is calmer heads and more definition of what the car is doing so the crew chief can make a decision on adjustments.
I did write a response to the #4 post but it got lost in cyber space and I had not saved it. So, I just let it go. But since you bring it up again, I believe there will probably be some changes on that team in the off season.
As for Ingrid, I would not let that woman out of the house without doing a little "pole" dance for me in the morning.

but sure something needs to be done for junior and gordon team; whatever it will be and soon lets hope, 2008 season it's almost gone so let them plan for 09 . 08 was a wash almost.
(compare to their capacityes).
