So much for that business about Kyle Busch cooling down.
Instead, Busch showed that he was just ready to take on his newest title as the Sprint Cup's next great road course ace after winning Sunday's Centurion Boats at the Glen.
The win was the eighth of the year for Busch, and more importantly, it ended the two race streak of unimpressive finishes of 15th at Indianapolis and 36th at Pocono for the No. 18 car. The win also secures Busch that no other driver can score enough Chase for the Championship bonus points from now until the Chase starts after Richmond.
Busch's win at Watkins Glen also completed a sweep of the Sprint Cup road course events in 2008 for the driver.
Teammate Tony Stewart finished second, but the most impressive run of the day goes to Australian Marcos Ambrose. Ambrose started the day dead last on the field in 43rd thanks to rain on Friday during qualifying, but he motored through the field in his Wood Brothers No. 21 to take third place.
Normal road course contender Jeff Gordon was never a factor and just couldn't ever get the car running better, finishing an extremely disappointing 29th unofficially.
A huge crash with the field coming to the start/finish line with eight laps to go brought out the red flag as nine cars piled up coming on to the frontstetch brought out the red flag for nearly 40 minutes. David Gilliland took a number of brutal hits and Bobby Labonte was transferred to a local hospital after getting out of his car.
Prior to that incident, though, the race had run quite clean and green with only two previous cautions due to debris coming on the track.

Kyle and his team should be congratulated. This past week Jeff Gordon said he thinks the 18 team was coming back to the rest of the field. I am not sure what Jeff has seen to say that but he may need to go get his eyes checked.

For those of you who cannot pay attention, it's BUSCH, not Bush.
Again, another great race for Kyle, I don't think anyone can stop him but himself. Get rid of that pit lizard who is always leering in the background of your interviews and your fans will be perfectly happy.
Kyle will be the man.

For those of you which DO PAY attention, I shall say : it's none of my business if KYLE BUSH kisses or has a lizard , a dog, a monkey, a mule, a boyfriend or a girlfriend in the background or on pit row as long as he is able to race properly and WIN and such GOSSIP should not be anybody else business also.
works for me...

Hmmmm, gang, the lizard you refer to is not with Kyle. She is Miss Sprint and is paid by that company to stand there with that goofy grin on her face. Work for me.....

Hey Don,
Little Shrub does have a nice young lady friend that he is and has been dating. She came over to give him a kiss right after he pulled into victory lane. Apparently Jan is just jealous that Kyle has a woman. I don't know why she continues to refer to her as a "pit lizard." I think she is lovely and frankly, I am willing to bet she is the first if not near the first peace of (you know what) that Kyle has ever had. In fact, I'd be willing to go out on a limb here and say that the reason he shot out like a cannon this year and was not very successful in years prior to this one, is because he is now getting some (wink, wink).

Down and out with a PC virus. Mike, your a class act. I heard the same comments by Jeff and caught myself thinking where did that come from? I left it at that and after Kyle won the race the same comment you just made entered my head. It can also be that Jeff was trying to light a fire under Kyle to get him back on track. To hear your comments coming from a true Gordon fan is classy.
Conrats to Steve Adington and the 18 pit crew they are pumping out 14 to 15 second stops time after time. Kyle Busch is taking care of business on road courses when no one thought he could win. I think he was schooled a bit on road courses by TS by the comments Tony made after the race claiming "he put the pressure on and Kyle held it together". Kyle has amitted he has had pass problems on road courses until he came over to JGR. Go get it done KYLE! M&M are the Kings of candy... Make them kings of Nascar.

Well what can I say Bernie? Week in and week out Jeff Gordon says he thinks his team is on to something with the COT and while a few of the most recent races have looked good, this week was a sham for the driver that has won more road course races than any other. Well actually, he has won more races in general than any other drivers out there but that just further goes to his fans frustration. Then, he goes out and says something akin to " Kyle Busch has lost his advantage". That's all well and good if you have something in the bag and beat the guy, but Jeff came in something like 28th.
Too many people are still holding on to the fantasy that Toyota has been given a free pass by Nascar this year to do whatever they want and that is why KB is busting loose. Well, I am sorry to say that at this point in the season I am sure Kyle has had his cars looked at and taken apart to see why he is suddenly a winner when last year he was just a whiner. I said it at the beginning of the season and I will say it again, the sun the moon and all the planets have aligned properly, not to mention that the COT is built just for his driving abilities. He is just unstoppable this year unless he stops himself. I am sure he and his three fans are going to have a hell of a party at the end of the season.
It just sucks to be Gordon fan this year.

Mike,
I'm sure it won't be long before the 24 team gets back on top of the COT again. I've heard many comments that agree with the notion that winning in Nascar comes in srteaks from team to team. I tend to agree with that theory judging by what HMS did last year, JGR this year.I think it was Roush in 2006.
You know, Kyle has been piling up new fans as well as wins this season. I have not heard so many people claim to be on the KB wagon on the radio as I've heard this season.
On another note, I'm at Riverside hospital in Newport News, VA. another Kyle Busch fan, James Andrew Fancher Bueno is about to come out into the world. My second and last child. He was due on Sunday but decided to wait until today to meet us all. YEE HAW! I'm a adaddy again!

Thanks Mike,
Everything went great we had a 7.62 lb healthy baby boy. As far as I could tell he had all his fingers and toes. Man he's a great looking kid! That's great news Mike, ODU is a good choice of schools. If you come down for a visit look me up.. I'm in Smithfield, VA. We can cook a few porterhouse. My daughter was almost there too in 2003 until she decided to get into Marine engineering, went to Mass maritime academy instead.
Brad,
thank you, you know it's funny you offered the Jr. gear. I will not have a choice in the matter, my mother in law and wife are huge Jr fans they will have him in 88 gear without a doubt. My 2 year old has the 88 and 18 cars and he plays with the M&M 18 more than the amp 88 and calls the cars Junia or Kie Bus. They are trying to break the KB habit he has but I keep telling them, Kids don't normally do to what you tell them to do but they will do what they see you doing. That being said as long as he watches daddy cheer the 18 on race day that's what they both will do. Thanks again guys,
I could not of had a better week, Kyle Busch wins his 8th race, Brett Farve is a New York JET! and I have another son. Doesn't get much better

You sound so proud! It's such an awesome feeling when our little ones are born, especially when everthing turns out okay and they are healthy! :-) James Andrew is a beautiful name! I do have to hit you with one thing though.....How can you possibly be happy that Brett Farve as a Jet??? I am so bummed! I wish he would have just stayed retired. Greenbay will be nothing without Brett and I don't know if the Jets deserve him. JMO of course.
Congratulations again!

Hey thanks Kim, Anna,
James Andrew was his grandfathers name. His Grand Dad stormed the beaches of Normandi, he was in the US Army from 1940 to 45. Lost his leg to a mortar blast and survived. I'm proud to have named him after his grandfather. As for Bret Farve, he's the first in a Jets unifrom that can take the Jets to a SB since Joe Namath. I've been a Jets fan since I was 7. That's 40 years and have not seen a SB win since 1969. I'm hoping for a good year at the very least. Thanks agian, Regards Bernie

Hi Kim, Anna,
Thanks, James is his late grandfathers name, Andrew is his other late grandfathers name. Grandfather James served in the US Army from 1940 to 1945 and stormed the beaches of Normandi. He lost a leg to a mortar blast and survived. His memorial brick is on display at the WWII memorial museum in New Orleans, LA. St sgt James Clyde Jackson. The brick can be found about 15 feet in front of the Souvenier shop door.
I'm very proud to have named him after his grandfather James. As for Bret Farve, I've been a Jets fan since I was 7 years old I watched Broadway Joe hold his finger up as he ran off the football field it was great to have beaten the favorite Colts. I have not seen a QB in a Jets uniform that had the ability to take us to the Superbowl and win since then, Vinny Testaverde came the closest but threw far too many interceptions to beat any team with the type of defenses that can make it to the Super bowl. We all know that turnovers are game breakers he just had too many go against him. Bret Farve is the first QB to put on the Jets jersey since Namath, 1969! who is capable of delivering the ring. I love the Chargers too, I was in San Diego for 18 years and fell in love with the Bolts. Thanks again.. Regards Bernie.
