All systems, and Brendan Fraser, seem to be a go for tonight's LifeLock 400 at Chicagoland Speedway.Fraser, in town to promote his new movie "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor", appeared at a press conference this afternoon in the media center with Ryan Newman. Newman is driving a No. 12 Dodge with a Kodak/Mummy paint scheme on it in tonight's race.
Fraser -- who in real life is about as eccentric as his character George in the movie "George of the Jungle" -- will deliver the command to start engines before the face.
The race, slated for green flag just past 8:00pm/ET on TNT, will be the first one under the lights at Chicagoland, but will start with the sun still setting in the west. Tonight though, cloudy skies appear to be prevailing, meaning teams won't have as big of a change once the race fully goes to night mode.
Rain has been in the forecast for much of the week, but a system of showers seems to be dropping just south of the speedway and breaking up at the same time. Aside from an errant shower, the precipitation shouldn't play a big factor.
Following the race, the FanHouse will have plenty of driver reaction and commentary on the LifeLock 400. Be sure to stop by, but in the mean time, feel free to use the comment section below to discuss race happenings or your favorite Brendan Fraser movie. Whatever floats the boat.
Enjoy the race.

TNT has got to be the worst broadcasters in Nascar, these guys totally distract and irritate me, with shots of the drivers insdie the car and endless talk about mirrors and the good old days. That's the problem with having former race car drivers on sportscasts, they never shut up and they are yelling.
I don't know about you guys but TNT should go someplace else, preferably away from the tracks and take the loudmouths with them.
Is it just me or do they not talk nice about Kyle Busch?
Go Kyle Busch, he's the best driver.

Well thus far this is probably one of the most boring races this season. There is little to no passing going on, no accidents (not that I want to see anyone get hurt, but come on, I need some excitement!), few pit stops, and we have "working cautions." What the heck??? When did NASCAR start this "working caution thing?" I find it annoying. Let them do green flag pit stops or race until their tires go flat. I am bored.
And Jan, I agree with some of what you said. I too find some of the commentary excessive and rather boring. However, they were actually just speaking rather kindly about Kyle Busch. They said they enjoyed having him in the booth earlier tonight and talked about how "grounded" he was because he was just enjoying the ride right now and he knew, nothing can last forever. I think people in general are just bored with any one driver dominating anything. I thought the whole point to the COT was so that there wouldn't be any "domination" by any one driver or one team. If everyone is truly on a level playing field with the new car, then why the domination by Busch and JGR this year? I am puzzled. JMHO
