Dale Earnhardt Jr. said earlier this week that he's been a little too hard on his JR Motorsports driver Brad Keselowski. After Saturday night, he's going to be pretty happy with his young driver after Keselowski won the Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Superspeedway. It was Keselowski's first career win in the Nationwide Series.
Towards the end, the race was a lesson in fuel mileage as the leaders stretched their fuel tanks to the limit. Clint Bowyer, David Reutimann, and David Stremme all raced towards the front at the end as some late cautions allowed them to conserve fuel.
On the last restart, David Reutimann led until Clint Bowyer tapped his rear bumper to take the lead. Keselowski also got under Reutimann and stayed glued to Bowyer's rear bumper. He finally got under Bowyer with just a few laps to go and set sail for the finish line.
Bowyer and Stremme got together coming off turn four coming to the finish line, shooting Bowyer up the track. He wasn't real happy with Stremme after the event.
But for Keselowski, I'd say winning the traditional guitar trophy was much less important than the pressure he may have relieved from his owner Dale Jr.

He would've won a couple of weeks ago if Denny Hamlin wasn't such a pr**k

I still dont think he's that great of a race car driver, it was Eury Sr that made the winning call that won them the race, not Brad. Besides, he's an ugly looking guy, he looks like a damn fish! Where's Bill Dance or Hank Parker Sr when you need them! Im sure Bass Pro Shops would love to have him as a spokesman, after all, his picture is on their logo!

You usually put up interesting posts CJ but this one stunk. What does it matter how someone looks in comparing him to his racing ability? Rather superficial isn't it? If this is how you look at the world, you're missing a lot. JMO

I think this kid Keselowski is very good. If Junior does take his cars from NW series to cup he will have a good driver in Brad Keselowski. Will he contend? I think he has a shot. He and Joey Logano are two of the brighter youngsters that can make it to the cup series and have an immediate impact on the field.

Why is David Reutimann still wasting his time with Waltrip's team? He is a much better driver than the cars he races. I read when that billionaire bought Buffy's part of the team he would put money into the team but since then heard they got rid of almost all the good guys they hired due to money problems. And if that was not enough Waltrip hired an engineer (Eric Warren) that almost put Ray Everham out of business. Everham is finally recovering from Eric Warren's mistakes.
