No. 20 Fans Rejoice When Stewart Finally Speaks

Tony Stewart has been pretty much MIA for any questions from the media in a few of the past Nextel Cup events in the Chase.

Currently, the Home Deport Chevrolet sits fourth in series points, 249 points back of the series leader Jeff Gordon.

Now, I fully realize that Stewart's rule about attending media sessions was clarified after Phoenix this year, and from that I know that he doesn't have to talk to anyone unless he finishes in the top-3.

Let's just say that the top-3 has been elusive for the Indiana driver during the Chase for the Nextel Cup.

Regardless, it just doesn't seem fair to Tony's fans that they have to wait for driver No. 20's comments either from the satellite radio show he hosts or from a press release from Joe Gibbs Racing as an advance press release for the coming race weekend.

As a result, I, as one of your gracious hosts of the NASCAR FanHouse, have posted some thoughts and observations from Stewart about the coming race at Atlanta and his position in points.

"Until somebody comes up and says, 'OK, mathematically you are out of it,' until then, we have a shot," said Stewart.

Hm. That was meaty. I can see why that would be tough to talk about after a race. Right.

"All we can do is just do our job," he said. "Even if we win the race for the last four weeks in a row, there is still no guarantee that we could close the gap.

Enjoy it while it lasts, I suppose.

Stewart is a great player. He has done a goood job in his career. On the other hand, he is a nice man, a successful man, a millionaire. I saw his profile on the celebrity and millionaire singles club millionairecupid.com. His status is "certified millionaire" there.

TONY IS THE BEST DRIVER IN NASCAR. HE DOESNT ALWAYS GET THE BREAKS SOME OF THE OTHERS GET.HE IS ALSO A VERY REAL PERSON.HE DOES A LOT FOR CHARITIES AND I PERSONALLY KNOW 2 OF HIS BEST FRIENDS. Oh Tony, Tony, Tony, Tony,

I think it's safe to say mathematically anyway, that your odds of winning the chase with just four more races to go are slim to none. I am not sure how well you did in Math class, but I am fairly sure it wasn't good enough! 249 points is quite a bit back from the leader, not to mention you haven't even been able to finish in the top five the last two races. But then, I am sure you will find a reason to whine about it and find someone else to blame for your inability to win this year!

The chase is now just a two man show between Gordon & Johnson. It's just a matter of which one, but one of them is certainly going to win the championship this year, mathematically speaking that is!

This is of course, just my opinion!

no disrespect to tony or any of his fans. he is a great driver and it is only fitting that this chase is over for him this year. last years winner was 142 behind to win the chase. how could tony make up another 17 point even to tie. i like the man but that is a tall tail to win ty norb

Now, now, now....people play nice or you will have to go stand in the corner with Kim. And just because Gordon's new baby favors Juan Montoya doesn't mean that Jeff is gay. And just because Johnson hasn't found someone to father his child doesn't mean he's gay either. As far as Tony goes, he's the greatest driver out there and he is not gay. If you don't believe me, just ask his boyfriend. Let's leave off the name calling and gay bashing and stick to comments about the racing news.......okay.

Debby- I respect your admiration for Stewart. I just have one question- what have you been smoking? The "Greatest driver ever" doesn't use profanity on national TV after winning at the Brickyard- nor does he deliberately spin out his own teammate. He doesn't get into altercations with reporters and photographers, and he's not a driver who has been fined and put on probation for his conduct in 4 of the last 7 years. Plus he doesn't give other drivers the "finger" when they pass him, and he doesn't publicly accuse Nascar of being rigged like professional wrestling.
Just because he makes a few commercials with some dude who used to be fat doesn't make him a good guy.

At least Tony's crew cheif doesn't have to cheat to get a win from Tony, unlike some drivers crew cheif have to do. Like say Jeff Gordon or Jimmy Johnson, how many time have they been suspended????? Everyone with half a brain knows that Jeff Gordon takes the cake when it comes to being a Big crybaby.

As a matter of fact KP, Tony's crew chief Zippy was also suspended early on this season for suspected "cheating." You know what they say about those who make accusations & don't have their facts straight, don't you?

TONY STEWART ALL TIME BEST DRIVER EVER? PLEASE.. HE IS NUMBER 20 ON THE MOST WINS LIST.THIS IS THE REASON FANS OF OTHER DRIVERS GO TO STEWARTS PAGE SO WE CAN READ FUNNY STUFF LIKE THIS. A LOT OF YOU (but not all) SOUND LIKE JR FANS. DID ANYONE EVEN SEE THE ATLANTA RACE.

Hi, it's me and I am back from mancation. This blog is posted on four different sites, not just the Tony Stewart lover's site. So, chances are most of us got to this blog from one of the OTHER 3 sites.
Mathematically, Tony will be out of it when there is still 1 1/2 races to go. In fact, at his current rate, it may be when there are 2 full races to go. As far as I am concerned it will be just fine with me if he gives no more interviews this year at all.
