Greg Biffle's 2nd place finish in the Dodge Dealers 400 was his best performance of the season, but it wasn't quite enough to catch Carl Edwards."If I could've got to his bumper, it might have been a challenge for him. I know he's in the Chase and he had a little cushion today, and I needed a win pretty bad, but we were going to race him clean. But I wish I had a chance at him."The cautions didn't help:
"They hurt us. I don't know ... I don't know if I was going to catch Carl or not."Biffle's fellow non-Chaser Dale Earnhardt Jr., on the other hand, benefited greatly from the late-race cautions. He was able to get back on the lead lap, avoid the "big one" and pull off a 3rd place finish, his seventh of the season.
"I think we deserved to get a top-three, even though we probably should have finished eighth or so."Agreed. The #8 team has had some misfortune they didn't deserve this season--they are certainly deserving of a little good fortune.
Hey ... why did they take away the million dollar award for the first driver to finish outside the Chase? I'm sure NASCAR wouldn't have that hard a time finding a sponsor to turn that unlucky spot into Lucky 13th.

This is the first I had heard that the first spot out of the chase no longer gets that Million Dollar payday...Now that sucks. What are the other cars out there for if not that spot and that money?
I hope someone does something to Hamlin for that hit on Kyle Petty. There was no reason for him to do that to Kyle one of the nicest drivers out there who had already moved over for other drivers he knew was in the chase and had Hamlin had a little more patience Kyle would have gotten out of his way too. Kyle is not a dirty driver or an aggresive driver.

i don't know what hamlin was thinking yesterday. i mean even his crew chief was telling him to calm down and all he wanted to do was drive the wheels off of it at the beginning of the race to lead the most laps. thats cool but damn you have to take care of your equipment.
GO JUNE BUG 88!! CAN'T WAIT TILL YOUR IN THE CHASE NEXT YEAR AND WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP.

Nascar did away with the million because all their "pet" drivers made the chase. Let one of them fail to make it next year and it will be back.

I was wondering the same thing, sis! It seems that the DEI gang could do no right for Jr. this year, but they sure did a great job for Truex, Jr. Makes you wonder. It is just my opinion as well, but alot of people hold the same. By the way, Kyle Petty is one of the nicest, most caring people on this planet, shame on Denny Hamlin.
