Ricky Rudd will miss his third consecutive race this weekend at Dover International Speedway. Rudd suffered a serious shoulder separation during a crash at California Speedway.Kenny Wallace has filled in Rudd's No. 88 since that time and will continue this weekend with Dover's Dodge Dealers 400.
Wallace says that he is looking forward to running in the Dodge Dealers 400.During his time in the RYR Ford, Wallace has posted unremarkable finishes of 28th and 34th respectively at Richmond and Loudon.
"I really have a love/hate relationship with Dover," he said. "I've had some good runs there, and those are the runs I always try to remember when we head there for a race. I really enjoy the track a lot, and I'm just waiting to love the track, but I really feel that I can do well up there in the car of tomorrow this weekend. For as much as I enjoy Dover, I haven't had the finishes that I should have so far, but I'm just going to keep on trying."
David Gililland, the other Yates driver, has only posted finishes of 22nd and 39th at the same events -- showing that the Yates machines aren't exactly up-to-par at the moment, however.
For Wallace's future, you've got to hope that Yates brings a better package to the Monster Mile this weekend.
It's not known when Ricky Rudd, who is retiring at the end of this season, will come back -- if at all -- from his injury.

Yates is an idiot! If he had any common sense, since he's already announced Kvapil's goin to take that ride, this is the PERFECT opportunity to try and get a lil chemistry built for next year, but should i be suprised! I mean, this is the same idiot that threw a fit for Jr wanting the #38 and ends up giving them the 88, which has more meaning to them! I hope they just fold up, they are so far behind, they have no sponsors, a crappy line up of drivers, and Robert's retiring. As much as i'd love to see the #28 back(would've loved to have seen that on Jr's car) i think Doug would bring nothing but more embarassment to it as he has already to Tates Racing. The reason it's been goin downhill is they actually bought into the fact that they were nieve to believe Roush would help them when they merged their engine programs, and how's that worked out for them? Let's see, Roush has two Cup championships and at one time all five cars in the Chase, and what has Yates gotten since then? One car in the inaugural chase with former driver Elliott Sadler and a total of like three or four wins. Yea, Roush is a backstabber and Yates is a moron!

I'd rather put Aarron Wallace in the car and sign him up for a real long contract.

Let's give Kenny Wallace a break. I like Kenny and without a doubt Kenny is a popular NASCAR personality. I for one would like to see Yates Racing do some good. At one time Yates Racing was a team to worry about with their Yates engines. I wish them the best. I wish Ricky Rudd a speedy and full recovery.
