3+8=38 and Other Car Number Math

I think this is a TERRIFIC number! I actually thought though that it'd only be brought back cause Robert wanted to bring the 28 back, but i think it's even better than the #8 in my opinion! I'd like to see maybe Hendrick send the #5 over to Casey Mears and drop the 25, it's been very unlucky anyways. Also, hearing rumors that Chad Knaus and Jimmie have not been getting along very well and he could be heading to Jr's ride next year. Apparently, when Jeff Gordon was asked bout it, he replied with no comment. If these two things come true, the rest of the field, including the other Hendrick drivers, better watch their ass and get ready for all u Jr bashers to have your damn mouths shut, or drop to the floor!

And if I remember correctly (I'll have to go back and check the photo I have at home), when Kerry, Kelley and Junior were running cars in some series pre-Busch (let's put it this way - Kelley has very big permed hair in the picture, so it's been a while), the three of them were running the 3, 8 and 38. I think Kelley had the 38 in that one. Which would be an even better homage to a family member - a shout out to the sister that's been there for him.

jr. could have any number he wanted and it wouldn't change the fact that he's not even one of the top ten drivers racing today.

Yes, Chad does push the envelope and that would make me nervous as far as getting Jr fined and penalized, but he's a HUGE step up from Tony Jr and is a championship winning crew chief, so i would be happy if it worked out. I've never really had a problem with him, but i dont like how he's always caught with his hand in the cookie jar, but we'll just have to wait and see, it is a rumor, but i think is a very possible option. As far as the Jr Fan that said he should run the 08, that should not have been an option, i feel the "08" or and zero numbers such as the "01" or 07" shouldnt be run, because they either get the single digit version, such as 1 or 7, or run another number between 0-99, there's 100 numbers right there and not all are taken! Second off, those numbers, such as Mark and Clint's, are listed on race entry forms as 101 and 107, so where's the #1 in front of them on the race car? It's not! So im glad they didnt use a tacky number like the #08, the 38 works fine! But at least you didnt say, "why dont he run the #83" like some other stupidasses have, which obviously, if they were more observant in the sport, would realize that Vickers already runs that number and have no reason to want to part with it, unlike RYR, who last year tried to bring back the #28 and would've been more willing to give up the #38 or #88 to Junior.

CJ make up your mind you are going back and fourth and if I remember correctly you are one of the main ones bashing Chad Knauss. As for Tony Jr he is a cheater himself . Fans of HMS are not the slightest worried about who JR crew chief is and you saying that other HSM drivers better wathch their ass it is actually the other way around. JR better watch his they will be nice at first but they are not gonna give him anything he'll have to earn it even with your so called cheater.

Different day, same circus. I wonder how all the other drivers really feel about Jr getting all this attention over what number he will carry next year. They can't say, Nascar and their own PR people won't let them. But like me, I bet they've had it up to here about Jr and his stupid number. Forget the chase (which he won't make), forget that Nascar is doing everything it can to flush itself down the toilet, nothing else matters but "the number". Give me, and the rest of the world a break. Put any number on his car, suit him up and let him go racing.
Personally, I think he should have taken the number 77, because he's going to need all the luck he can get next year to live up to all the expectations his "nation" has saddled him with. Or perhaps the number 13 just in case he doesn't do well with his new ride. We all know how unlucky that number is. Using it would be an easy out for him and his followers should things go bad next year. Bottom line, I like Jr as a person, but he isn't the best driver out there by a long shot. Let him do as his daddy did, prove himself on the track, then he would be worthy of all the attention. Works for me.......

Don, I am surprised you have not caught on. As long as you distract people with the right hand you do not see what is coming with the left. As long as you bitch and moan and groan about what number is on the side of the car, you do not have to explain why you have not won but 2 races in 3 years and are not even making Nascars ridiculous format of a chase. Just like the people complaing that he gets bad engines. Let me see, Richard Childress builds his engines and many more. Why is it that only Jr blows them up? DEI is just not dedicated to winning. Why is Truex doing so well?
I agree with you that Jr is great guy and the problem lies with the Idiot Nation that showers Jr with gold for no good reason other than being born with a name. I personally have great repect for him as a man for the way he conducts himself compared to many other drivers. If he were to ever become a winner I will have more respect for him as a driver. Like you, I think respect is something "Earned", not something you should be Born with.

Why don't we all wait until next year and see what happens. Let us not pass judgements and make accuations about something none of us really know is going to be. Let Jr, have his own life and support him as a true fan should. He really doesn't have to prove one thing to anyone, he's racing because HE likes to not because his fans want him to. His name is his own, and that's, that's.

Great! let jr run the the # 38 it's my lucky number, maybe Hendrick motorsport should borrow the #3 & #8 design and put together since they both are designed the same way and when it's upsidedown the # say "BE" ,It's the same way i got my lucky number I'm a fan of both Earnhardts so i join the both "Single Digit" number together, ethier that or add 3 and 3 to make 11 but denny have the number or get 03 instead, but anyway just take # 38

HEY, #8 #88 # 83 #33 #37 #3 #73 #38.....WHO CARES?....HOWEVER i must say that #38 is a great pick and "the junior nation" should be happy.
AND YES; CHAD KNAUS is a big reapeated cheater but, he is a good crew chief and has being able to keep JJ highly competitive for the last 5 seasons and that includes a championship, so he would be a great addition to junior move to HMS. Cannot say the same for TONY EURY jr. GO FOR IT DALE!
