Tony Stewart couldn't have been happier than to race one of his very close friends for the win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. His very close friend Kevin Harvick ... not so much.
Stewart says he raced Harvick with respect:
"I work really hard because if I'm going to preach about give and take, it's stupid for me to not do the same thing. If I want people to race me with respect, I'm going to race people with respect. Like I said, I didn't mean to get into Kevin. That wasn't my intention. I didn't have to do that. That could have screwed me up, could have cut a tire down more than it would have accomplished to get into him. There was no logical reason to get into him. That was a mistake on my part."Take that, everyone who says Stewart never admits when he's wrong. Of course, we have to wonder if he'd be so forthcoming with the acknowledgment if it was his fender that got caved in.
Happy isn't so happy with the outcome of the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard and won't take Smoke's call after being relegated to a 7th place finish:
"The biggest disappointment was just how we weren't able to finish second. We had the second-best car and wound up finishing seventh. Unfortunately, it was just a matter of time before he got by, and he just kind of caught me off guard.
"I understand he probably made a mistake, but when you're on the receiving end of it, it's not a part that I ... take lightly ... For 15 laps side by side, changing the lead back and forth, and from my end, it just looks like he just got in a hurry and got a little bit frustrated because he couldn't get by as easy as he wanted to.
Harvick said he'll get over it--at some point--so not to worry, they'll still be BFFs.
"Things happen. It's part of the sport, and I'm not going to sit up here and whine about it. It's just something that happened. At some point it will go the other way, and you just hope that it's not something that is harped upon if it goes that way."
Indeed.
...Anybody out there playing the Rusty Wallace "I'll Tell Ya What" Drinking Game Sunday? Y'all must have been tanked by the end of this race ...

Big deal, two of the worst cry babies in NASCAR got together, and now they are bitchin' bout it. They should have settled it in the pits, instead of whining over the air waves. But then, if they had done that, one of them might have broken a nail and been out for several weeks. We don't need more women in NASCAR, we have enough already.

hahahahahah... not funny. women in nascar would be hot.
Every driver complains after a race if they were involved in something. It's the ones who can't get over it after a week that are the cry babies. I like both drivers, but harvick needs to get over it.

I find it utterly amazing that a "hendrick fan" is calling a Gibbs team member a cheater!!!! Do you only check the news every other month or what? WHERES CHAD...oops sorry suspension for ummm... should we call it "creative fender fabrication"
I find that most of the post here written by bigger "cry babies" than any driver or team owner.
I had the honor of meeting SR at two different races and I didn't think he was a "butthole" As for cheating, King Richard I believe would hold the crown.

Just remember, it's easier to be magnanimous after you win. If Tony could act like that during those times when he sucks pond water, I might even be a fan.

To mikeymike - remember Jr started the "cheating" before anyone of any other drivers. Guess you forgot that. As for Jeff Godon JR will always as he has always eat his dust. He can never beat Jeff Gordon just not good enough and he does enough whinig of his own when he doesn't get any help. So just remember who stated the suspensions and I believe Tony JR wans the first one who got caught. So back up what you say or keep your mouth shut, Maybe you should read the news more often.

This is my first time to this site and from what I have read, it seems to me that the "Cry Babies" must be the one's whose drivers have lost. As far as "breaking a nail" when I watch NASCAR races, I watch the cars with the drivers and not their hands ( perhaps you have a hand fetish, I don't know. I don't know you, just like you do not know 20 or 24 driver or most likely, any of them). Instead of being envious of their skills and talent, perhaps we should all try to support them and the sport.

Tony's "apology" is about as sincere as those of J. Gordon, AFTER he gets the win, and is "sorry." Tony has a long history of losing his temper, and this is just one more. He is a very talented driver, but he gets away with more than most.
