NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Aaron Fike and his fiancée, Casi Davidson, have been arrested on drug possession charges:According to police, Fike struck a Kings Island security officer with the side mirror of his car as he drove away.
When Mason police arrived on the scene, they found heroin inside his SUV as well as syringes and spoons with residue.
Fike, who sits eighth in points, currently drives for Red Horse Racing. To my knowledge, the team has not yet released a statement.
Yet another NASCAR driver flushing his career down the drain instead of the drugs.
And heroin? That's a new one to me for NASCAR. Cocaine, yes. Heroin? That's a whole different ballgame.
Update: Statement from Red Horse Racing
According to news sources, Aaron Fike, who has made 12 starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series behind the wheel of the No. 1 RFMS/Red Horse Racing Toyota this year, and his fiancée Casi Davidson were arrested at Kings Island theme park in Ohio on Saturday on drug possession charges."We were made aware of this incident this afternoon," said Red Horse Racing's General Manager and Team Owner, Tom DeLoach. "We are working with NASCAR to obtain further information on the incident and will release more information as the facts become available to us."

People make bad decisions, yes, I believe that. But to go around and point out faults in others does not make you any better. I find things like this upsetting and a million thoughts race through my head, but it is no one's place to judge anyone else. Your harsh opinions do not reflect who these people are.

I have no sympathy for drug addicts. It is not a disease or a sickness, it is a choice. For someone to choose to lie in the gutter and throw their life away, harsh comments are the LEAST of their problems.

imperfectasyou- It's no ones place to judge anyone else? So Aaron Fike should just be allowed to shoot up on heroin, drive around and run people over? I guess you're right, we wouldn't want to hurt his feelings and base our opinion of him on a bad decision. His actions clearly show that he's concerned about others.

I work in the substance abuse prevention and treatment field and find it very sad when I hear statements from people that are ignorant that addiction is a disease and think that the addict needs more willpower to quit using. The following quotes are from an excellent website with free video-clips that you can view to learn more about addiction: www.hbo.com/addiction
"Addiction is a chronic relapsing brain disease. Brain imaging shows that addiction severely alters brain areas critical to decision-making, learning and memory, and behavior control, which may help to explain the compulsive and destructive behaviors of addiction."
"The stigma associated with addiction is one of the greatest challenges to recovery. Each year only 10 percent of Americans who need alcohol and drug treatment get the help they need. Yet with treatment and support, people with addiction can lead productive lives."
Unfortunately, because of the stigma of addiction, comments are made about it not being a disease. This is ignorance and requires simple education and empathy.
Love the individual and hate their disease.

I never said that they should be allowed to shoot up and run over people. I really don't agree with it. I just don't agree with talking others down, especially when you know nothing of them. I'm sorry you feel otherwise. Maybe you don't know anyone that has ever been in a situation such as this. Drug abuse, yes, is a choice. And there is not an excuse for it, but there is room for change and people to realize that what they do does affect others around them...and can lead to harming multiple people in the process. I just prefer to have faith and hope that realizations and changes are made...which could only happen when people try to help, not by tearing individuals down.

You obviously don't know Aaron. He's not another dumb asshole who sits around shootin up all day. Yeah he made probably the dumbest decision of his life but you can't judge him based only on that. He's done a hell of a lot of good things in his life and career. He's one of the only drivers out there that truly care about their fans for more than just publicity reasons and to look good to their fans. He's been great to me and my family and hasn't gotten any publicity for it. Don't get me wrong I don't condone what he did and i'm EXTREMELY disappointed in him. I'm just saying give him a chance, wait and see how he handles everything, and if he's really sorry for it. Find out who he really is before you go and judge him. He made a horrible choice but he's not a horrible person!

He may have done good things in his life, but he is also the same man that took drugs then possibly placed others lives at risk. You don't think it incredibly selfish and dangerous to be using drugs and driving over a hundred miles an hour? He could have killed someone and for that he should not be forgiven. Drugs are not a mistake they are a choice. When you use them the first time you make that choice. I don't care about the rehab bs or any of the addict bs. He made that decision!

Just another dumb asshole who doesn't realize there are a million guys waiting to take his ride? Whatever The U, sounds to me like you're the dumb asshole as drug addiction is a lot more complicated than some CTS driver apparently hurting your feelings. Save your indignation for another time, moron, your opinions are irrelevant.

You apologists act like he has never been busted before! When he raced in the Infiniti Pro Series, he had a similar uh, "encounter". I'm certain he was "councilled" on his problems etc. back then. Quit apologizing for a guy who squanders his chances and opportunities over and over again. He is a disgrace.
