14 of those idiots were dumb enough to get caught be speedway security. And they, in Talladega's mind, have been banned for life from buying tickets. The morons were also charged with disorderly conduct and had to post bail from the track's temporary jail.
However, notice that there is no stopping them from buying tickets from a 3rd party.
Is that the most that speedway officials could do? After all, this guy was banned from Shea Stadium for 3 years for flashing the Braves and a fellow New Yorker was banned from Yankee Stadium for life for jumping onto the net. It appears that those folks would be trespassing if caught there again, so why can't they set that precedent in Alabama?
I hate to believe it for such a great show that NASCAR puts on for the fans at Talladega, but the track really doesn't deserve a single date at this point. Sure, a few are ruining it for all in this situation, but is it really hard for fans to police themselves? Is it that hard not to act like a caveman at the race track?
An ultimatum is necessary -- quit throwing garbage or NASCAR will forget about you like yesterday's trash.
Talladega needs to ban bottled and canned beverages from both the track concessions and being brought in from the outside. The fans there (and Phoenix, and any other race track that has shown this type of behavior, for that matter) have ruined one of the great parts of attending a NASCAR race -- bringing your own food and drink.
The NASCAR Nation likes to brag about having the most loyal and best fan base in sports, but right now, I've got to say I'm embarrassed to be grouped in with people that have no respect for the dedication, work, and perseverance that the drivers and teams that pay to see exhibit.
NASCAR fans are better than that -- let's weed the idiots out.

NASCAR Fans have it so good. I can't think of any other sport where you can bring an entire cooler of beer with you. In the UK you can't even take a small bottle of water to soccer matches. NASCAR needs to make sure that the actions of a few don't spoil it for the majority.

Now in no way do I think the fans should throw anything on the track, it is just plain stupid. But, Fox didn't show it but if you watched ESPN or Speed Jeffy did do a burnout right in front the fans, I mean he knew it was coming. One more thing if I did throw anything it would have been at the NASCAR officials booth. This isn't racing anymore, I think that was the reason fans are so upset. You go to the race and spend 1500 to $2000 on camping and gas and food, etc. and you get to watch 185 laps of good racing only for a caution to come out and see who can grab the lead in the first turn.

I was at the Talladega race in the Talladega tower and people around me were throwing cans at the track I am not a Gordon fan but I beleive every driver has a right to be treated with respect after a win no matter who they are . I love Nascar racing I am one of there truest fan but I was very upset at the other people around me throwing beer cans at the track than over Jeff Gordon winning

To Todd:
Why shouldn't Jeff have been able to do a burn-out on the track after winning? Any other driver would have and that's part of the fun of watching the end of a race, no matter who wins! Not only did he win the race, but that race put him in the record books! He had a right to celebrate his victory as any other driver would have. He wasn't "egging" anyone on. He can't be blamed for those "idiot" fans who chose to dishonor him, Nascar, and all other loyal fans who wouldn't even have dreamed of throwing anything at any race car driver! He was excited and proud of his accomplishment, as he should have been! Congratulations, Jeff Gordon! You deserve it!

these classless fans at talladega has made the legend of the earnhardts tarnish just some don't let it happen jeff is a great driver, deserved to win, and i know senior and (most of all junior) admired this guy and would be ashamed of what happened.... and doing a winner's burnout is part of the tradition and a few stupid idiots were not gonna take that way from jeff and he wasn't about to let them! by the way jeff beat senior's winning record 14 years ahead of time against better cars and drivers..... get smart fans

Oh, and one more thing....Todd;
Did you ever think that there were some if not many loyal Jeff Gordon fans in the stands, not to mention the ones watching at home, who WANTED to see him celebrate his victory? In fact, I was pissed that Fox didn't show his burn-out or after party. Everyone says Jeff is NASCAR'S "Golden Boy," yet they didn't appreciate him enough to allow his fans to watch and enjoy his victory burn-out and victory lane interview!

Jeff Gordom didnt win anything, NASCAR gave the race to him for what ever reason. I have come to the conclusion that NASCAR is just another soap opera like wresteling.
I do not agree that anyone should have thrown anything on to the track. That was a stupid thing for anyone to do.
Jeff and Jimmie, when is broke back speedway coming out?

If you were a true fan of NASCAR, you would know there is no "race fixing" here. Jeff did win the race fair and square. And might I also add that like all other posters who continuously claim "conspiracy theories" about NASCAR "fixing" races and drivers "cheating," you like them Sir, are an IDIOT! You can't even spell or use proper grammar. If you hate NASCAR so much, then quit watching! But most of all, quit leaving your IGNORANT posts on our legitimate fan web blogs!!!!!
