AT&T: We have rights!
NASCAR: No you don't!

AT&T: But the contract does not contain language preventing a logo change if Cingular's ownership structure changes.
NASCAR: But we told Richard Childress Racing specifically that the grandfather clause applies to the Cingular brand only, and not if the company's name changes--and we have the paperwork to prove it.

AT&T: But we want to pour money into your sport!
NASCAR: Great! Come to the Busch or Craftsman Truck series! Your money is no good in Nextel Cup.

They're joking, right?

Bye-bye, AT&T.

New sponsors, come on down!

How about a few more Fortune 500 companies that are not in the sport yet--the ones that don't conflict with any "official" NASCAR sponsors?
  • Wal-mart
  • IBM
  • Hewlett-Packard
  • Dell
  • Microsoft
  • Intel
Hmmm. Looks like the Silicon Valley hasn't firgured out the power of the NASCAR fan dollar, huh?

Got more ideas for RCR?
